Agency and Venue Join Forces to Give Back to Birmingham
Following recent discussions held around social value in the beam ESG action group meetings between Blackberry Events Marketing and Sustainability Manager Ellie Cashmore and Park Regis Regional Sales Director Sigita Pjampite, both Birmingham based organisation’s teams were inspired to join forces on a recent volunteering mission.
Over two days on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th June 2026, a group of 6 from Blackberry Events and Park Regis Hotel took to Aston University to be involved in the running of Titan Partnership’s 20th annual event – Aston Olympians.
This legacy event has helped over 4000 primary school children access sports over the years, particularly those from schools with limited resources to do what most of us consider a given. Aston Olympians is a heart-warming sport challenge where primary school pupils compete for medals, develop skills and realise their potential.
Sean Bates, Head of Marketing, Titan Partnership explains,
“Their young people participate in football, dodgeball, basketball, water polo and a gym challenge and for some this is the only time they get to experience all the great mental, social and health benefits that come with an activity like this.
During this week alone, the event helped over 250 Year 5 pupils from eight primary schools across Birmingham.”
Ben Lonsdale, Marketing and Systems Manager, Aston University reflects,
“Events like these simply wouldn’t be possible without the generosity and commitment of volunteers. We are deeply grateful for everything they contributed, from guiding the children through the activities to cheering them on and ensuring everything ran smoothly.”
The opportunity to volunteer followed from Blackberry Events introducing Titan Partnership as the new charity partner for their annual Inspiring Leadership in Education Conference. An annual event that welcomes over 600 delegates to attend Birmingham each year and is focused on bettering leadership in schools across the UK.
Following the appointment of Titan Partnership, the Inspiring Leadership in Education Conference raised over £800 towards the organisation of the 2027 Aston Olympians event.
Ellie Cashmore, Marketing & Sustainability Manager, Blackberry Events said,
“To volunteer at an event like this, where you get to speak directly to the young people and hear their experiences as well as providing them with a day filled with laughter and positive re-enforcement alongside the sport – well it was just the best feeling, we all loved it!”
Sigita Pjampite, Regional Sales Director, Switch Hospitality continued,
“Together these two events and hospitality organisations hope to inspire others to create strength in numbers and use it to make positive impact. Delivering great experiences for delegates is one thing but generating lasting impact outside of the day to day is what makes the work we do even more meaningful.”
