Switch Housing, which is operated by the asset management and consultancy company, Switch Management Ltd, has appointed Ozay Ali as Associate Director of Affordable Housing.
The appointment follows the recent launch of Switch Housing’s residential programme, in which it is working in partnership with councils, local authorities and landlords to source safe and secure accommodation for vulnerable families in response to the UK’s affordable housing shortage.
In his career spanning nearly 50 years, Ozay has held many senior leadership positions, including Chief Executive of a medium sized community landlord and as Chair of a large social landlord in London. Ozay was also seconded, as a special advisor, to the Government from 1990 to 1992, advising on UK-wide housing and development for the Defence Housing Estates, an operating arm of the Ministry of Defence.
Additionally, Ozay has overseen the delivery and management of many thousands of homes throughout his career and his experience will support Switch’s mission to deliver and implement quality social housing initiatives.
Commenting on his appointment, Ozay said: “Switch Housing currently provides accommodation for hundreds of families each week to local councils across the UK, and I am pleased to be joining the team to support their mission at a time when demand for affordable housing is at a record high.
